MYSIA, Pergamum. Septimius Severus, with Julia Domna. AD 193-211. Æ Medallion (43mm, 44.69 g, 12h). Claudianus Terpander, strategos. Confronted busts of Severus right, laureate, draped, and cuirassed, and Domna left, draped; c/m: laureate head of Caracalla right within incuse circle / Victimarius standing left, wielding mallet with which he is about to strike bull standing submissively at left; behind, statue of Severus, extending hand and holding scepter, standing left on cippus. SNG BN 2208-9 (same dies); SNG von Aulock –; for c/m: Howgego 70. Near VF, brown surfaces. Rare type.
