Stadt. Silbermedaille 1667, von Chr. Adolphzoon, auf den Frieden von Breda zwischen den Niederlanden und Großbritannien am 31. Juli. Die Personifikation der Niederlande steht v. v. in antiker Rüstung, in der Rechten Zepter, in der Linken Lanze mit angebundenem Pfeilbündel; mit dem linken Fuß drückt sie den personifizierten Neid zu Boden, zu den Seiten Löwe und Lamm, im Hintergrund Fluß mit zum Teil brennenden Schiffen//Weibliche Gestalt mit Schwert, Merkurstab und Füllhorn steht v. v. auf Waffen, hinter ihr Schriftband mit IRATO BELLUM PLACATO NUMINE PAX EST; oben die aus Wolken kommende Hand Gottes mit zwei miteinander verbundenen Wappenschilden; im Hintergrund Handelsschiffe auf ruhiger See. The allusion to this attack upon a medal, struck by authority of the states upon the establishment of peace, as well as the motto MALA BESTIA, which was applied by the evil disposed to Charles himself, gave great offence.
