Right after the hammer drops on our Government $50 with the same A000009 serial number, we are overjoyed to present the highest denomination of the series. As these notes were by far the highest denomination issued (the 5 Pound note was converted to $14.29), circulation of these notes were not wide. The last example of this Pick number we handled was a similarly graded example bearing the serial AA000081, which realized $42,300 this April. Again for the benefit of collectors, this example with a single digit serial number will have an estimate at around the same level, with this cataloguer fully knowing it may be easily surpassed.
