A Specimen of each note prepared by the American Bank Note Company on Tyvek substrate for Haiti. These are considered the first "polymer" notes, preceding Australia's Guardian issues by about a decade. True, Tyvek held up very well in circulation and was very resistant to tearing (anyone who has handled Tyvek envelopes could attest to this), but it was also so resistant that inks quickly faded. Coupled with the heavy ABNCo intaglio inks at that time, it meant notes often circulated to a blank piece of substrate. Hence, the small circulation test contract was never renewed, and notes fell out of circulation. Printer's annotations are seen on several examples. All notes share the PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ grade.

Estimate: 6000-8000 USD
