Spain Banco de Cadiz 500 Reales de Vellon ND (1863) Pick S293? Printed on what appears to be a rose tinted paper, this example appears to be Pick S293 except that the paper color listed in Pick is "brown." The watermark indicates the correct denomination and so your cataloger believes that the Pick listing is, in fact, incorrect. Likewise, the attribution on the holder also seems incorrect as there is no date on the note and this example has the red underprint. In any case, this is an attractive large format note that grades About Uncirculated 55 per PMG with several liquidation rubberstamps on the back. Minor Foreign Substance is also mentioned although there is no overt evidence of it through the holder. From The Alta California Collection
