Great Britain Treasury Notes 10 Shillings (60 Silver Piastres) ND (1915) Pick 348b. An example attributed incorrectly by the third party holder as being issued from the Bank of England. However during World War I when these notes were introduced to resolve the lack of the denomination which was previously filled by half sovereigns, the treasury was authorized to print these small denomination notes, and hence the signature of Secretary to the Treasury John Bradbury. These notes issued for the Dardanelles Campaign have the black overprint "60 Silver Piastres" as they were to be used in the Ottoman Empire. PCGS Banknote Grading Very Fine 25 Details, minor tear.
