Great Britain Bank of England £1 ND (1949-55) Pick 369b. As there was previously a law preventing the Bank of England from issuing notes of less than £5, sovereigns took the place of the denomination. However due to World War I and World War II and the outflow of specie, first the Treasury and then the Bank of England printed this £1 denomination. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
