Italy Internee Camp - Comando Campo Contramento per Internati Civili 1 Lire; 2 Lire; 10 Lire; 20 Lire ND Campbell 6513; 6514; 6516; 6517. About 3500 Slovene and Croatian civilians, mostly women and children, were held in this camp which was located in Monigo, near Treviso, in northeastern Italy. The camp was disbanded in 1943 when Italy capitulated. These fully issued notes grade Very Good-Fine. The 1 Lire note has been severed and sewn back together while the 10 Lire has significant horizontal fold splits. The 20 Lire note served as the plate note for Campbell's catalog and is unpriced in that listing.
