MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AV stater (18mm, 8.56 gm, 10h). Posthumous issue of Amphipolis, ca. 280-270 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right, the bowl decorated with coiled serpent / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Nike standing left, holding wreath and cradling stylis; monogram and crescent to outer left, monograms under left and right wings. Price 609-610 var. (monogram under left wing as 609, other monograms as 610). Crisply struck in high relief, with luster around devices. NGC MS 5/5 - 3/5.
