THRACIAN KINGDOM. Lysimachus (305-281 BC). AR tetradrachm (29mm, 17.04 gm, 6h). Thrace, Aenus (?), ca. 283-260 BC. Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, with horn of Ammon / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧOΥ, Athena enthroned left, holding Nike and spear in right hand and resting left elbow on shield; in inner field left, crossed keykeions over enthroned cult image. Thompson --, cf. 257 (lion head over enthroned cult image, attributed to Aenus "with some reservations"). Müller 115. An exceedingly rare symbol combination (noted in Müller but apparently unseen at auction in 15+ years), struck from dies of wonderful style, well centered on a broad, round flan, and beautifully toned. NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 4/5.

Estimate: 2000-2800 USD
