EPIROTE KINGDOM. Pyrrhus (297-272 BC). AR 5 litrae or octobol (17mm, 5.25 gm, 12h). Syracuse mint, 278-275 BC. Head of Kore Persephone right, wreathed in grain ears / Athena Alkidemos advancing left, holding shield and brandishing spear, thunderbolt in left field, cornucopia in right. SNG ANS 832. Extremely rare with head right! Surfaces somewhat grainy, reverse struck from worn die, otherwise quite attractive. Extremely Fine.
