Valens (AD 364-378). AV solidus. Antioch mint, 2nd officina, AD 372. Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valens right / Roma and Constantinopolis, with right foot on prow and holding scepter in left hand, enthroned facing, holding between them a shield inscribed VOT/X/MVL/XX in four lines; Christogram above; ANOBS in exergue. RIC IX 16c. Holed and plugged at 11:00 obverse. NGC XF, plugged.
