Tripura, Rama Ganga Manikya (second reign 1821-26), gold Mohur, 10.38g, Sk.1743, citing Queen Chandra Tara, lion facing left, trident on back, date below, within border of two circles with petals between, rev. Śiva Durga Pa/de Śrī Śrī Yuta Rāma/ Ganga Mānikya Deva/ Śrī Śrīmati Chandra Tā/rā Mahā Devyau, lozenge-shaped pellets arranged as crosses at top and bottom, all with circle (RB. 265; KM. 295 (plate coin)), about extremely fine but obverse weakly struck, of the utmost rarity.
This and subsequent issues were only struck as presentation pieces and not for circulation. RB includes an interesting witness account of the striking of these coins at the formal installation ceremony of the ruler.
