MUZAFFARID: Muhammad, 1335-1358, AR dinar (2.80g), Bazuft, AH760, A-2279V, Zeno-132700 (this piece), the year 760 is repeated twice in the obverse margin, the mint is located in Greater Luristan, not far from the modern city of Izeh (then Aydhaj, capital of the Hazaraspid Atabegs), banker's mark on reverse, VF. This is an important type, as it suggests that the Hazaraspids (Atabegs of Lur Buzurg) continued to recognize Muhammad b. al-Muzaffar as nominal overlord after he was deposed by Shah Shuja' either very late in 758 or in the early months of 759. Muhammad died in prison in 763.
