THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 460-450 BC. AR Hemidrachm (15mm, 3.34 g, 6h). The hero Thessalos, with petasos and chlamys hanging around neck, restraining forepart of bull right by band held around its head / Λ-ΑR-Ι, forepart of bridled horse right within incuse square. Lorber, Thessalian pl. 41, 13 (same dies); cf. BCD Thessaly I 1110 (same obv. die); BCD Thessaly II 153 var. (same obv. die; arrangement of ethnic); HGC 4, 455 (same obv. die as illustration). Good VF, toned, minor mark on edge.
