Victoria, 1837-1901. Gold Half Sovereign, 1857, London. Extremely fine.. 4.00 g. 19.3 mm. Mintage: 728,223. Marsh 431, S.3859. A little hairlining in the fields, yet a most pleasing example of an early date. Due to being more used in circulation than full sovereigns, the half sovereigns are considerably harder to find in higher grades. Extremely fine.
