Elizabeth II, 1953-. Westminster Abbey 900 Years 3 Medal Set, 1965, London (Eimer 2107). Mintage: 900. The set was issued in 1965 to commemorate the 900 years anniversary of the Westminster Abbey. The design is made by Michael Rizzello, a London-born Italian sculptor, who also made the £2 coin commemorating the 50th anniversary of the United Nations. The gold medal is struck in 22 carat gold and weighs 127.3 grams (116.7 g fine=3.75 oz), the silver weighs 80.6 grams and is struck in .925 sterling silver (74.6 grams fine=2.40 oz). All three medals are 2 ¼ inch (ca 57 mm) in diameter and in superb condition without any marks or scratches. In the original presentation box, the certificate of authenticity and information leaflet, which are all in excellent condition. At £1000/oz. the gold value alone is £3750.
