RUSSIA. Victoria, 1837-1901. Tin Medal, 1709. Near FDC. Struck to commemorate Peter the Great and Russian victory at the battle of Poltava in 1709, against Swedish troops. The battle was important as it marked the beginning of the end of Swedish power and control in the Baltic sea.
