A commemorative Silver coin with the face-value of 25 rubles created at the Saint-Petersburg Mint is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of birth of the great Italian composer. The Bank of Russia has issued the "Creative Work of Giuseppe Verdi" coin within the framework of the "Treasury of the World Culture" series.
There is a relief fragment of Giuseppe Verdi's portrait by Giovanni Boldini against the mirror area in the left bottom of the coin reverse; in the background to the right there is the building of the Bolshoi Kamenny Theatre in Saint-Petersburg; a facsimile signature of the composer is above it. In the top of the disc to the right there is a fragment of a musical score, to the left there are contours of the Peter and Paul Fortress; in the left along the edge there is a semicircular inscription "ДЖУЗЕППЕ ВЕРДИ" (Giuseppe Verdi).
