Confederation 5 Francs 1874-B MS63 NGC, Brussels mint, KM11, HMZ-21197e. This B dot variety or ("B.") is slightly scarcer than the Bern mint ("B") issue of this date. An elegant design depicts the seated figure of Helvetia that is a light champagne tone and has great luster with full features. Coming from a scant mintage of 195,650 most of these crowns were heavily circulated and not many mint state examples survived. Our offering is tied with one other example at NGC as the finest known to date.
