Holy Roman Empire. Francis I, 1745-1765. Medal (Silver, 45mm, 38.72 g 12), on the election of Francis I as Emperor in Frankfurt on 13 September 1745, by N. van Swinderen in the Hague, 1745. FRANCISCVS.D.G.ROMAN. IMPER.SEMPER.AVGVSTVS. Draped and cuirassed bust of Francis facing, turned slightly to left, wearing wig and Order of the Golden Fleece. Rev. VETRO. SE.PVRPVRA.SVPPLEX.OBTVLIT.ET.SOLVS:MERVIT.REGNARE.ROGATVS Table covered by a cloth adorned with the crowned shields of Tuscany, Austria and Lorraine, along with the letters A.E.I.O.V., and bearing a pillow supporting the imperial regalia; in exergue, ELECTVS.IPSIS.IDIBVS. / SEPTEMBRIBVS. / MDCCXLV. Förschner 310. JuF 768. Rare. Nicely toned and attractive. A few minor marks, and one minor edge fault, otherwise, good extremely fine.
