Arretium or Populonia. 3rd century BC. AE (Bronze, 18mm, 6.64 g 6). Head of a young male Aethiopian or Nubian to right. Rev. Elephant with a bell hanging from his neck; below, Etruscan M. HN III 69. SNG ANS 40. An extraordinarily attractive example of this rare type. Well-centered and with an attractive green patina. Very fine.
