Metapontum. Circa 340-330 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 20mm, 7.71 g 6). Bearded head of Leukippos to right, wearing Corinthian helmet; behind, cross-headed torch. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Barley ear with leaf to right; to right, ℵ?Η. HN III 1955. Johnston A5.3. SNG ANS 405. An attractive, very sharp and well struck piece with an elegant head of Leukippos. Some minor marks and striking flatness, otherwise, good extremely fine.
