SICILY
Himera. Circa 430-420 BC. Pentonkion (Bronze, 27mm, 25.60 g). Facing gorgoneion with open mouth, protruding tongue and prominent teeth. Rev. Five pellets within a shallow incuse square. CNS 6 = SNG Munich 363. Very rare. Dark, blackish-green patina with some earthen highlights. Very boldly struck and impressive. Good very fine.
