Ainos. Circa 402/1-400/399 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 13mm, 2.53 g 10). Head of Hermes facing, wearing petasos and with his head turned very slightly to his right. Rev. ΑΙΝΙ Goat standing right, his forelegs close together; to right, sprouting corn-grain; all within incuse square. May, Ainos 333 (A208/P223) = McClean 3934. Extremely rare, perhaps only the second example known. With a lovely head of Hermes. Lightly rough surfaces, and with a reverse that is lightly struck and has minor metal fault, otherwise, extremely fine.
