THRACE
Mesambria. Circa end 5th - early 4th century BC. Obol (Silver, 10x8mm, 0.55 g). Corinthian helmet with transverse crest facing. Rev. Wheel of four spokes with a tetraskeles or swastika in each quarter. Cf. SNG BMC 267 = Traité II, 4, col 1033, 1653 and pl. ccclii, 4 (obol with ΜΕΣ and swastika). An extremely rare and most unusual coin. Slightly rough surfaces, otherwise clear and, about extremely fine.
