Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Stater (Gold, 18mm, 8.62 g 6), Miletos, c. 325-323. Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet adorned with serpent; below neck, thunderbolt. Rev. AΛEΞANΔΡOΥ Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylus; to left, monogram of ΔΗ. Price 2077. Clear attractive and well-struck, with a large head of Athena. Extremely fine.

This coin was struck during the lifetime of Alexander, and was part of his first issue of gold from Miletos.
