Athens. Circa 137/6 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31mm, 16.91 g 12), New Style, Miki(on) and Theophra(stos). Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos. Α-ΘΕ / ΜΙ/ΚΙ - / ΘΕΟ/ΦΡΑ Owl standing facing on amphora; to right, Nike driving chariot to right; on amphora, uncertain letter; below amphora, ΜΕ (= contractor's initials). Thompson 318. A bright and attractive example, but with some surface roughness. Extremely fine.
