Tarsos. Mazaios, Satrap of Cilicia, 361/0-334 BC. Stater (Silver, 22mm, 10.64 g 5). B'LTRZ (in Aramaic) Baaltars seated to left, holding a lotus-tipped scepter in his extended right hand, and resting his left hand on his chlamys at his waist; below right, round shield. Rev. MZDY (in Aramaic) Lion walking left on rocky ground. M. Bendenoun, Les Monnaies de l'Antiquité, Splendeurs et Témoinages. Geneva, 2006, p. 139, 76 (this coin). Casabonne Serie 5, Group B (Tarsos). A lovely toned example, with splendid lion of oriental, 'Assyrian' style. Extremely fine.
