Salamis. Pnytagoras, circa 351/0-332/1 BC. Stater (Gold, 16mm, 8.31 g 12). ΠΝ Draped bust of Aphrodite to left, wearing mural crown, necklace and pendant earring. Rev. ΒΑ Diademed bust of Aphrodite to left, lightly draped and wearing hoop earring and torc. BMC 76. De Luynes 2950. Traité II, 1184. Very rare. An exceptionally fine example, struck in high relief. A few minor marks and some die rust, otherwise, extremely fine.

This very rare stater shows two aspects of Aphrodite: as the protectress of cities, wearing a mural crown, and as a more oriental goddess, with elaborate jewelry and carefully coifed hair.
