Berenike II, wife of Ptolemy III, circa 244/3-221 BC. Hemidrachm (Gold, 12mm, 2.17 g 12), Alexandria, afrer c. 241. Diademed, draped and veiled bust of Berenike II to right, wearing pearl necklace. Rev. ΒΕΡΕΝΙΚΗΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΙΣΣΗΣ Cornucopiae bound with a fillet; to left and right, six-pointed star. BMFA 2280. Svoronos 981. Very rare. A splendid piece with a fine portrait. Very minor edge knock, otherwise, good extremely fine.
