L. Aemilius Buca, Denarius (Silver, 16mm, 4.00 g 7), Rome, 44 BC. L.BVCA Diademed head of Venus to right. Rev. Sulla reclining to left on rocky ground shaded by Victory standing right, with spread wings and holding a staff; to right, Luna seated on a rock to left, offering a thunderbolt to the sleeping Sulla. Babelon (Aemilia) 12. Crawford 480/1. CRI 164. Sydenham 1064. Very rare. A clear and well-centered example. Some striking cracks, otherwise, extremely fine.
