BOMBAY PRESIDENCY: AV mohur (11.56g), "Surat", 1802 year 4(6), Stv-3.2, KM--. Prid--, struck at Bombay, privy #3 (date 1802 inverted above "sh" of padishah on obverse, leopard's head symbol on reverse), VF to EF, RRR, ex Paul Stevens Collection. Pridmore only recorded this privy mark on the gold panchia (1/3-mohur). See The New York Sale XVII, 9 January 2008, lot 397, and Wilkes & Curtis Auction 5, lot 251, for the other two known examples. The Wilkes and Curtis example hammered for £13,000 (before buyer's premium).
