BOMBAY PRESIDENCY: AR rupee, "Surat", AH1215 year 46 (frozen), Stv-3.32, Prid-285. KM-221, deep golden toning, NGC graded Proof 64. According to Pridmore, this issue was declared legal tender by Proclamation dated October 17, 1832, and was the first silver issue struck at the new Bombay mint. The style is a close copy of the Calcutta rupee issue of Pridmore-284.
