UMAYYAD: 'Abd al-Malik, 685-705, AV dinar (4.27g), NM (Dimashq), AH78, A-125, superb bold strike, About Unc, ex Stephen Album Auction 12, Lot 63 (sold for $3100). Although first struck in AH77, 78 is earliest affordable date for any Islamic coins. Dinars of this year are either in the style of 77 or of 79 (probably about equal rarity), and this is the early style.
