Watch List notes:

UMAYYAD: 'Abd al-Malik, 685-705, AR dirham (2.54g), Fil, AH81, A-126, Klat--, W-279, edge chipped, surfaces slightly porous, VF, RRR. This date was unknown to Klat, though two other specimens have appeared at auction since then (Islamic Coin Auction 17, Lot 52, and Auction 20, Lot 67). Walker & others have interpreted the mint as Fil near Khwarizm, but that city was not yet conquered by the Muslims. An alternative reading is Qibâl, which was the contemporary name of a suburb of Isfahan.
