UMAYYAD: Anonymous, ca. 735-745, AE fals (3.19g), Madinat Ma'dan Amir al-Mu'minin, ND, A-A183, W-349, Fine to VF, RR. The mint was probably located at or near al-Rusafa in eastern Syria, where the Umayyad caliphs maintained an important palace. Coins of this mint are of the eastern Syrian style, and have mainly been found in the region around Rusafa.
