ABBASID: al-Muqtadir, 908-932, AV dinar (3.30g), Mah al-Basra, AH318, A-245.2, abbreviated name as mardij below reverse, previously unpublished; several specimens were found in the AH323 hoard, some typical weakness for this mint, nice VF to EF, RRR. This type may also be considered Ziyarid, as Mardâwij began his conquest of the region around Hamadan, Dinawar (=Mah al-Kufa) and Nihawand (=Mah al-Basra). Unpublished before the recent AH323 hoard, which contained at least 5-10 pieces of this mint/date combination.
