Maktum, 974-988, AR multiple dirham, Andaraba, AH378, A-A1440, 10.21g, obverse as SNAT-204 (same die), reverse as SNAT-206 of Sebuktegin (different die), Qur'an Verse 9:34 (warning for those who hoard gold & silver), minor weakness towards the rim, EF, RRR. The same reverse die is known on Zeno-39926. This is the only example I've seen that includes the last three words of the Qur'an Verse 9:34, "announce unto them a most grievous penalty." It remains undetermined if this type indicates that Sahlan switched his obedience from the Samanids to the Ghaznavids in or shortly after AH378, or whether this is just an unintended muling of two dies of different origins.
