KARLUGHID OF HAZARA: Zahir al-Din b. Ghiyath al-Din Mahmud, 16th century, AR tanka (4.12g), Pakli, ND, A-M2467, nice strike, 1 testmark, nice VF, RRR, ex William F. Spengler. The Karlughids were a minor dynasty that ruled in the Hazara District of Pakistan, cenetered around the modern city of Mansehra, about 50 miles north of Islamabad. Only a few coins are known, probably all from a group acquired by William F. Spengler in the 1970s.
