KUTCH: Madanasinghji, 1947-1948, AR 5 kori, Bhuj, VS2004, Y-85, Victory for Indian Independence, lovely example, PCGS graded MS67. In the 16th century, Kutch was unified under one flag by Rao Khengarji I. He and his direct successors had a good relationship with the Mughals and the Gujarat Sultanate. After later battles with the Sindh, the state was ruled independently for a time, and later accepted British East India Company suzerainty in 1819 after being defeated in battle. Kutch again stabilized and its economy flourished. When India gained independence, Kutch became a part of the dominion of India, and became a state of the union in 1950.
