BENGAL PRESIDENCY: AR nazarana rupee (11.35g), "Murshidabad", AH1182 year 10, Stv-2.79. KM-Pn1. Prid-343, struck at the Calcutta mint, special production for presentation or pattern purposes, unique, bold VF, RRRR, ex Paul Stevens Collection, ex K.W. Wiggins Collection. It is interesting that on rupees struck in Murshidibad in regnal year 10, the privy mark was changed from a sun to a moon (crescent). While this piece has the sun privy mark, the Calcutta mintmaster was ordered to put the moon privy mark on the Murshidibad rupees struck at his mint, in place of the sun.
