ANCIENT COINS, GREEK COINS, Ionia, Uncertain Ionian Mint (c.620-550 BC), Plated Electrum Trite, Pegasos, with curved wing, walking to left, rev two square punches side-by-side, with irregular surfaces, one slightly larger than the other, 3.82g (cf Weidauer 148; cf Babelon, Traité I, pl. 2, 25; cf Boston 1761). Nearly very fine, plated, a rare early fourrée.
This is the earliest appearance of Pegasos on a coin.
