ANCIENT COINS, ANCIENT BRITISH, Celtic Gold, East Wiltshire, Gold ¼-Stater, 1.05g, c.50-35 BC, devolved Apollo head pattern with four large flower-shaped ornaments, rev triple tailed horse left with mane, 'strap' below horse's belly, radiate sun over, one pellet over and three pellets below pointed wheel shape below with central pellet, other pellets and a dotted pellet within field (ABC 2109; VA 232-1; S 48). Good very fine, scarce.
