Private Charles William Aldred 2nd Battalion Suffolk Regiment was killed in Action on 28 March 1918 at the time of his death he was 23 years old. He was the son of William and C Jane Aldred of 2 Crossway Cottages, Corton, Lowestoft, Suffolk; he is commemorated in Bay 4 of the Arras Memorial, France. He served with two Service Numbers, 17815 and 50249 – his Medal Index Card refers.
