Chiriqui Jar from Costa Rica, ca, 1200-1500 A.D.. A fine Chiriqui Tarrago Bisquit type jar, ca. 1200 - 1500 AD. It is 4-3/4" in diameter and is decorated with tapir head lugs. Intact, good mineral deposits. Ex Beausset estate. Cf. "Art of Costa Rica", page 257, for identical from the Sackler collection. Value range: $100 - $200.
