BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Dunham & Yallop, Copper Halfpenny, 1793, obv shield of arms of the city of Norwich on sword and mace, between crossed palm branches, SUCCESS TO THE CITY OF NORWICH around, raised shield, no tie at branches, hilt of the sword points to foot of F of OF, top of mace points to space between H and E of THE, rev eagle with wings extended, NORWICH HALFPENNY around, edge plain, rounded (Atkins p.153, 31; D&H Norfolk 30). Good extremely fine and extremely rare.
Robert Dunham (1761-1823) and John Yallop (later, Sir John Yallop, 1762-1835) were partners in the goldsmiths shop.
