BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, John Harvey, (1755-1842), master weaver, philanthropist, and banker, later the Mayor of Norwich and commanding officer of the Norwich Volunteer Cavalry, Copper Halfpenny (4), 1792, obv shield of arms of the City of Norwich, 1792 arranged around the shield, plain shield, tuft on the middle of the lion's tail, 2 of date on a line with the lower loop-hole, rev man working in a loom, the spokes on the wheel rotated, top spoke at 1 o'clock, the loop forms a fairly regular curve, edge plain (D&H Norfolk 38a); obv 2 of date on a line with the top of the loop-hole (2), edge plain (D&H unlisted, noted as D&H 39b); rev the spokes on the wheel align horizontally and vertically, top spoke at 12 o'clock, the loop forms an irregular curve, edge plain (D&H unlisted, Davisson as D&H Norfolk 40a); obv emblazoned shield, no tuft on the middle of the lion's tail, 2 of date on a line with the lower loop-hole, rev top spoke at 1 o'clock, the loop forms a fairly regular curve, edge CAMBRIDGE BEDFORD AND HUNTINGDON (D&H Norfolk 45a). D&H 38a fair, the others extremely fine or better, all exceedingly rare, no other examples traced of D&H 39b or D&H 40a. (4)
