BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Holloway & Son, Copper Halfpenny, 1794, obv view of a house, I. HOLLOWAY AND SON DRAPERS &c. POST OFFICE around, rev representation of a part of a castle and bridge, B. WATER HALFPENNY . FOR CHANGE NOT FRAUD around, edge PAYABLE AT SOUTH SHIELDS AND LONDON (Atkins p.176, 74b; D&H Somersetshire 86b). Reverse with verdigris, otherwise better than extremely fine and exceedingly rare, only one other example traced.

John Holloway (d. 1810) and son, Benjamin Holloway (1772-1836) operated a tailor and drapery business. John Holloway was also the postmaster in Bridgewater, the office pictured on their token.
