BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Charles James, die sinker and medalist, Bow Street, London, Copper and White Metal Penny, 1789, obv bust in profile left, EDW . LORD THUR – LOW around, rev THE SUPPORTERS OF THE CONSTITUTION OF GREAT BRITAIN, edge plain (Conder p.208, 51; Atkins p.364, 40; D&H Middlesex 219). First with some light scuffing, otherwise nearly good extremely fine, bronzed, the second with minor marks, otherwise nearly as made retaining almost full original brilliance. (2)

Responsible for executing the designs for numerous tokens including many of those for Gilbert Pidcock, Robert Orchard, and Thomas Spence.
